About the Step-up SIP calculator
A step-up (or top-up) SIP increases your monthly instalment by a fixed percentage every year, usually in line with your salary increases. Small annual increases make a big difference over long periods.
This calculator compares your step-up SIP with a regular SIP of the same starting amount.
How to use it
- Move the sliders, or type a value into each box.
- Watch the results and chart update as you go.
- Try different assumptions to see what changes the outcome most, then talk to us about a plan.
The formula
Each year y: monthly SIP = P × (1 + s)y; every instalment then grows at the monthly rate until the end
- P: starting monthly investment
- s: annual step-up (%)
- The value is the sum of every instalment, compounded monthly
Example
Starting at ₹10,000 a month and raising it by 10% every year, at 12% for 10 years, your SIP could be worth about ₹33,74,326, compared with ₹23,23,391 without a step-up.
